The cabinet approved the draft Metro Rail act
2014 (28April 2014) with a view to giving legal framework to the activities of
the proposed Metro Rail project in the capital. The proposed law also has a
provision for construction and operating for the Metro Rail on the basis of
public – private partnership (PPP) subject to obtaining license.

The 20.1km lengthy

Bangladesh Bank resolve be constructed in 2020 year. And the 3rd phase
of 4.7 km from Uttara to Pallabi will be fulfilled in 2022 year.
